The EU’s fifth list of priority cross-border energy infrastructure projects, known as ‘projects of common interest’ (PCIs), will be published in the EU’s Official Journal next month, as the co-legislators have not objected.
The review period for the delegated act establishing the list ended on Saturday 19 March, without a sufficient majority of Member States mobilising to reject it.
On Wednesday 9 March in the European Parliament, MEPs rejected by a large majority (177 votes in favour, 497 against and 22 abstentions) a motion of objection to the list tabled by the Greens/EFA group, which is particularly opposed to the presence of gas projects on the list.
